Making the connection between health policy, coverage and access.
Product approval is just one step toward gaining coverage and access for patients. Strategic policy and reimbursement considerations can fill gaps in ensuring the right healthcare products get to the right patients.
WHO WE ARE
Intuitively understand the issues and perspective
After seeing the healthcare ecosystem from different vantage points for the past 20 years, listening and creating tailored solutions is central to what Apteka stands for.
We work with large pharmaceutical companies and smaller orgs that may not have anyone on staff that is thinking (yet) about the policy and reimbursement environment for their products. We also work with patient groups and industry associations.
WHY CHOOSE APTEKA
Expertise to bring forward strategic vision and outcomes that matter
Deep subject matter knowledge
Years of subject matter expertise in issues surrounding Medicare, Medicaid, 340B, supply chain dynamics, managed care, value-based medicine, the Affordable Care Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Understanding the landscape
Over 20 years of working through the issues from the employer, pharmaceutical, wholesaler and government perspective. We can translate the messiness of the healthcare system for any audiences and can work toward strategic and realistic solutions.
Beyond the basics
It is not enough to understand the issues, it is critical to understand their impact and how to shape the environment. Apteka goes beyond the WHAT and moves clients to what matters most in terms of shaping the future.
Improving patient coverage and access through policy
Much of the value-story for treatments is (and should be) clinical but understanding and shaping the policy environment and reimbursement for products is critical preparation. Examples of situations where strategic positioning may be needed –
- New treatments in a disease state that hasn’t had innovation in many years
- Products with alternatives in different sites of care
- Products in therapeutic areas that are in flux (Inflation Reduction Act negotiation, biosimilars, etc.)
