Caught my eye — 8/9/24

A pretty quiet week for pharma health policy but there are a few things I think you should know …

The Auchincloss Venn Diagram. Brian Reid improved upon Congressman Auchincloss’s diagram and I think it provides a great way to think about pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) reform. No chicken, no egg – straight to the omelet. A visual we didn’t know we needed (and will come back to again and again.)

Just Cause Pharma Says It, Doesn’t Make it Untrue. Research and development takes a hit because of the Inflation Reduction Act. Innovation will continue but companies must be thoughtful on therapeutic areas and whether small molecule or large.

Keeping an Eye on. Last minute I wrote about the Medicare standalone prescription drug plan stabilization demonstration, this week GOP leaders are questioning if it is legal.
