Caught my eye — 11/8/24

Some days you eat the bear and some days the bear eats you.

Looking at Canada? No, not like that. JAMA featured a supply chain shortage look at the U.S. versus Canada. While not all of the lessons from Canada carry over (more flat bureaucracy because of connections between regulators and facilities) – they do have a similar outpatient prescription drug supply chain and fewer shortages. Lessons to borrow + a case for near-shoring when in need.

Predictions. Being in policy, I love a good prediction exercise. I don’t think a whole lot can be said with any certainty right now about what a Trump Administration will do and that means we have to plan for everything. Or nothing. But I’m going to start with a bit of something (international reference pricing, Food and Drug Administration changes, etc.).

Waiting. A Part D 2026 proposed rule is just hanging out there on the regulations dashboard.

Made me giggle. Not sure if this is a pro or a con for flying Spirit Airlines. I mean he didn’t have baggage so he’s ready to roll.
